UGM Press Granted Reference Books about Southeast Asian Studies to Goethe Universitat

 Frankfurt, October 16th 2015

Indonesia did not waste the opportunity in becoming the guest of honor in the oldest and the biggest book fair in the world, Frankfurt Book Fair 2015. All publisher representatives attended the fair tried hard to present its works as best as possible. So many rights had been sold and so many partnership had been established with international publishers.

As one of leading university publisher in Indonesia, UGM Press also took part in the event. Fifty academic titles that were presented, drew much interest from the visitors.

In order to strengthen the knowledge and its role in higher education, UGM Press established partnership with Goethe Universitat to grant those 50 titles by the end of the event. The partnership was established symbolically between Prof. Dr. Harno Dwi Pranowo as the Head of Publishing and Publication UGM and Prof. Dr. Arndt Graf as the Director of Interdisciplinary Center for East Asia Studies who is also the Chair of Dept. of Southeast Asia Studies in Goethe Universitat, Frankfurt, Germany, accompanied by M. Agung Bramantya, Ph.D. and Dr. Mutiah Amini.

Arndt Graf delivered appreciation at its highest upon the grant because it would enrich the references in Goethe Universitat, especially in the Southeast Asian studies. Meanwhile, Mutiah Amini said that the interest of scientists, European scientists, upon Southeast Asian studies, is getting higher, especially in the field of social, humanities, and culture. “Many questions about Southeast Asia came up, specifically about Indonesia, after becoming the guest of honor in Frankfurt Book Fair 2015,” ended M. Agung Bramantya.
