UGM PRESS'S BOOKS DISPLAYED IN 2019 LONDON BOOK FAIR
Four books from UGM Press were displayed at the 2019 London Book Fair (LBF) which took place on 12-14 March 2019 in Olympia, London.
"LBF is an international book exhibition event that is very important for the book world so that UGM Press submits its books to be displayed at LBF. We are sending this year four books in English and in the coming year we will send more books, both in English and Bahasa Indonesia" said UGM Press Manager, Dr. I Wayan Mustika, Wednesday (3/20).
The books which were selected were "Ecotourism Destination in Archipelago Countries" by Muhammad Baiquni, Janianton Damanik, and Erda Rindrasih; "Sustainability and Crisis at The Village: Agroforestry in West Java Indonesia" by Kosuke Mizuno and Siti Sugiah Mugniesyah (Editor); "Ekranisasi Awal: Bringing Novels to The Silver Screen in The Dutch East Indies" by Christopher A. Woodrich; and "50 Years of Amity and Enmity: The Politics of ASEAN Cooperation" by Poppy S. Winanti and Muhammad Rum (Editor).
"Indonesia's presence as the 2019 LBF Market Focus initiated and supported by the Badan Ekonomi Kreatif (Bekraf) and the Ministry of Education and Culture, the National Book Committee, and the Ikatan Penerbit Indonesia (IKAPI) and the Indonesian Asosiasi Penerbit Perguruan Tinggi Indonesia (APPTI) is to promote and market books to the world market. UGM Press and AUP Press contributed for presenting the four books and book catalogs from each publisher at the APPTI booth" said I Wayan.
The head of Badan Penerbit dan Publikasi (BPP) UGM, Dr. Widodo, said that this was an excellent moment to continue improving book literacy and especially books published by UGM Press as an academic publisher and promote it to the world.
"The presence of the UGM Press book at LBF 2019 is a very strategic step. In fact it is a smart stepping-off from a university publisher in order to open the horizons of international publishing," Widodo said. (irwan / UGM Press, Editor: Gesang Anita CW)
